A couple of weeks ago I travelled over the Llanllwni Mountain to visit Helen at her studio in rural Carmarthenshire. I wanted to chat to her about whether we could design some fun workshops together.

Whilst I was driving over the mountain, this beautiful creature popped his head up to say hello as I drove past (good job I had my camera to hand).

Isn’t he beautiful?

Anyway, I digress…

Once at Helen’s, I was invited into her warm studio and we sat and chatted over coffee about the types of workshops she could provide for us at Make it in Wales.

Her studio is full of delightful yarns, wool, crochet and peg loom creations. Her wonderful wall hangings and rugs give you an idea of the talent Helen has for putting textured wool and colour together, producing beautiful eye-catching items that you just ‘want’ .

It really makes you want to pick up a crochet hook, a peg loom…anything, just to have a go at making something. Something as lovely as Helen’s work.

Lucky for us, she’s agreed to teaching a few workshops for Make it in Wales next year. Woohoo.
