January 29th 6-8pm / April 21st 2-4pm
Two hour workshop £65
A two hour workshop carving a ring from jewellers wax to be cast into solid silver. Learn from jeweller Maggie Cross as she guides you through wax carving techniques for lost wax casting.
Have fun making something special with a personal touch. Carve a unique, one of a kind ring using jewellers wax and a selection of tools. Your bespoke wax ring will then be sent to a casting company in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter who will cast the wax into solid silver using the process of lost wax casting. The rings will then be hand-finished and posted back to you.
Maggie will begin by introducing herself and the techniques involved with wax ring carving. She will be on hand to guide you and answer questions throughout the session. At the time of your workshop, you may choose to upgrade to a wide ring or decide to make a second ring. These two options will incur extra charges payable at the time of your workshop. Included in your ticket price are all materials required to make your ring, plenty of tools to use, solid silver casting and finishing of your ring and return postage and packaging. Your ring will be returned to you in solid silver within 2-3 weeks. A drink and some nibbles are included in your ticket price and the bar will be open for you to purchase further drinks should you wish.
Please note that we have an under eighteen policy for this workshop.
