At Melin Tregwynt Woollen Mill
Learn how to transform selvedge offcuts and pre-loved wool and cotton into something new.
Selvedge offcuts are a by-product of the weaving process at Melin Tregwynt. Sustainability is important to the woollen mill and so they are keen to reduce waste by finding ways that their remnants can be transformed into something new and functional.
Designer Jolette Le Roux and Suzi Park from Make it in Wales will teach you a new process and assist you in transforming the selvedge offcuts and pre-loved wool and cotton, into a selvedge rectangle that can then be made into something new. Have a look at the photos below for some suggestions of what you might like to make. A rug, soft basket, snood or even a bag? You will learn simple making techniques and get lots of ideas for new projects which you can complete at home.
