In this workshop, Deborah will teach you how to create a skirt pattern to fit, using your body measurements. She will show you how to create a simple ‘toile’ in calico from the pattern. From the toile, she can help you adjust the fit to achieve the best shape skirt to fit your figure. These adjustments are applied to the pattern before you will go on to cut the skirt itself out in the fabric.  Deborah will then guide you through the best method to sew it. The aim will be that you achieve a gorgeous, finished skirt within the time of the workshop.

Please bring a pencil, paper scissors, fabric scissors, measuring tape and small hand sewing scissors.

You will need to buy your skirt fabric. Add 10cm to the finished skirt length for the correct amount of fabric. You will also need an invisible zip 23cm in length. We will supply calico for your toile.

You can bring your own machine too if you wish. Otherwise you are very welcome to use one of our machines at Stiwdio 3. A spacious work area is allocated to each student. A plentiful supply of tea is provided. Cake and/or lunch can be purchased on the day of your workshop from our café if you wish.
