👋 Say hello to Helen Hickman.
Naturally dyeing and hand spinning yarn, @nellieandeve is based on a mountain somewhere here in West Wales and makes things by hand from her garden studio. 🍂 The products she makes reflect her love of a homespun lifestyle. 🐑 Coming from a long line of creative women, seamstresses, embroiderers and home makers, ‘nellie and eve’ is named after her grandmothers. 💛

We’ve got some delicious workshops in the calendar with Helen for 2020! Weave a Welsh wool rug / sitting mat or knit a chunky infinity scarf in February. 🔥

@ericafrancesgeorge is a self-taught, make it up as she goes along kinda girl! 🙌

She grew up in rural Devon making things. Did a science degree. Got disillusioned. Got married. Went travelling, in wagon, pulled by a horse (for 5 years). Made things, wrote. Joined an eco-community (8 years). Became a parent. Had part time jobs. Made more things. Got divorced. Got remarried...💍 10 years later she's still making, still writing, still showing up, still questioning the way we look at things.
Making things is the one thing Erica can’t not do. 🧡

In the process of crafting, (a papercut, a print, a poem, even a pair of socks), she finds kinder and gentler ways to see and be herself in this world, to find ways to cut the crap and get on with living the best life she can. In that creative space she can find simplicity in the complex and discard the noise. 🕊️ Erica likes to think that life is a conversation with the universe and all we can do is show up, ready to listen and ready to talk. The rest is just a case of joining the dots. 🌙

So here she is, putting it out there in the hope that you might feel encouraged to question your view too. 🧠

She's come up with a super lovely 'Slow Blooms' workshop for us and it's buy one, get one half price as part of our festive promotion! 🎁 ...In this workshop you will create a (very) small, hand stitched bloom. Choose from a wide selection of pre-loved fabrics and outcomes; a brooch, a pendant or a hair slide. 💐
The repetition of small, simple stitches is the ideal respite from a world that spins too fast. Here, you can go slow and put your attention where you really want it…🌱

You can learn to make your very own with Nia next week at @stiwdio3cafe ☕️ ...Craft an unlined vegetable tanned leather tote bag in this two day workshop. (Tuesday 19th 10-5 and Friday 22nd 10-1). 💫

You will have the option to personalise your leather bag by embossing your name or initial on the front. The lovely leather will be durable and improve with age as it develops is own unique patina! 🥰

Meet Nia 👋
She’s a super smiley sandal maker, leather lover and talented tutor based in Cardiff. She ran an espadrille making workshop with us at @stiwdio3cafe earlier this year and it was amazing!! ⭐️ She’s back in a couple of weeks for another shoe making workshop on the 18th of November and also a new tote bag making workshop on the 19th. 🤩
