November 19th and 22nd at Stiwdio 3, Cardigan
Tuesday 19th – 10am – 5pm
Friday 22nd – 10am – 1pm
Craft an un-lined vegetable tanned leather tote bag in this two day workshop with Nia Denman from Studio ND.
Spend the day surrounded by the lovely smell of leather as you are guided through the steps, learning new skills and making new friends.
During the workshop you will be taught how to make a simple leather bag using basic and easily accessible hand tools. Spend the first day cutting your leather, finishing and fitting your handles and punching holes for the stitching. You will then be taught how to saddle stitch and have some time to finish your stitching at home before returning two days later to add the finishing touches.
You will even have the opportunity to personalise your leather bag by embossing your name or initials on the front. Your hand stitched bag will be durable and improve with age as it develops its own unique patina.
Skills covered in the course:
- Cutting leather
- Hole punching
- Hand stitching
No previous experience necessary but confidence with hand tools would be beneficial.
