Make your own embellished espadrilles using high quality industry waste leather in this full day workshop. Choose your leather from a range of gorgeous colours and personalise with pom-poms or leather tassels. Embellishments are not compulsory so you can make your shoes as minimalist or as out there as you like! No experience necessary, this is a beginner workshop.

During this workshop you will learn how to:

  • Use templates
  • Cut leather
  • Use specialist glues
  • Punch holes
  • Blanket stitch

During the first half of the workshop we will be cutting and decorating a pair of uppers (leather parts of the shoe). The remainder of the day will then be spent completing the stitching on one espadrille and you will be given a needle and enough thread to finish the second at home.

A spacious work area is allocated to each student along with their own set of tools to use while they’re here. A plentiful supply of tea is provided. Lunch and cakes can be bought at our lovely café.

Please email maggie@makeitinwales.co.uk with your shoe size as soon as you have bought your ticket so that Nia can ensure that she has your size before the workshop. Espadrille soles come in standard sizes and can’t be adapted during the workshop.
