Coptic Bookbinding with Fabric Covers with Carole King

July 5th
10am – 4.30pm

Learn to bind a beautiful coptic book using artists quality, acid free cartridge and gorgeous fabric covers.

Books with coptic bindings lie flat on the table when open and so are great as sketchbooks. This looser style of binding will allow you to stick a few items onto the pages without stressing the spine. Create your own book with fabric covered hardcovers, choose a selection of signatures (pages), you can combine watercolour, white cartridge and lined papers to suit your needs in the same book and learn how to sew it all together.

Each completed book will measure approximately 15 x 21.5cm.
A choice of cover fabrics will be provided but you may bring your own (please contact us in advance for details –
All materials required to make your casebound sketchbook are included in the course ticket price. A spacious work area is allocated to each student along with their own set of tools to use while they’re here. A plentiful supply of tea is provided.
