Saturday 27th April at Stiwdio 3, Cardigan
10am – 4.30pm
Learn the basics of machine knitting with Marissa Thereze.
Whether you’re an absolute beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this course will give you a firm grounding in the basics of machine knitting. You’ll gain an understanding of how the machine works and what it can do, with plenty of time to practise and experiment. The workshop covers basic skills, such as casting on and off, knitting stripes, increasing and decreasing, and creating various textures, patterns and hems using manual techniques. You’ll create a range of samples to take away and learn how to solve (and avoid) common machine knitting problems! As part of the workshop, we provide advice on buying a machine and sourcing yarn, accessories and spare parts.
