The Local Beaches

Mwnt
5.1 miles from Stiwdio 3

A charming National Trust beach nestled in a small cove off Cardigan Bay. Pass though on the Wales Coast Path, visit the quaint 14th century church at the mountain’s foothill and climb to the highest peak to get a view stretching miles, perfect for sunsets - you will be in awe!

Rich with wildlife, dolphins and seals are a regular sighting here.

Penbryn

11 miles from Stiwdio 3

Another National Trust gem, Penbryn beach is wide and spacious, with a dreamy woodland walk from the carpark right down to the beach. In low tide, walk left across the rocks to Tresaith beach, or to your right and find more length of this beautiful beach beyond the rocks.

A truly magical beach and a firm favourite for many of the team at Stiwdio 3.

Llangrannog

13 miles from Stiwdio 3

It may be small but its one of the best loved beaches in Ceredigion, and definitely worth a visit. Climb the steps of the cliff edge to its quieter second beach and neighbouring peninsula: Ynys Lochtyn. Home to seal colonies, the views from here are spectacular. North Wales can be seen in clear conditions.

The infamous Carreg Bica is a beautifully shaped rock that protrudes from the water at Llangrannog beach - a popular rock jumping spot.

The Witches Cauldron, Ceibwr

8.6 miles from Stiwdio 3

Ceibwr is a beautiful, pebbled beach on its own, but walk the cliff path South and fall upon the Witches Cauldron. A favourite local spot for swimming and kayaking, the cliff forms a bridge over the calm waters below.

Scramble down the rocks to your right, there’s a big drop to your left - beware!

Traeth Bach, Penbryn
12 (ish) miles from Stiwdio 3

One for the adventurers. Sometimes called Secret Beach or Llangrannog 2, the name of this beach will change depending on who you’re talking to. Hard to find but impossible to forget, drive to Penbryn beach carpark and follow the coastal path North. The adventure is in finding (and conquering!) the narrow path that descends to the beach below.

You can walk the cliff path South from Llangrannog to get here too, but finding the descent to the beach is just as hard!

North Cwmtydu

18 miles from Stiwdio 3

Scramble down a narrow path to the second beach, north of Cwmtydu. The views stretch far up the coastline which can be seen from the footpath. The beach itself is small and rocky, with fascinating rock formations and caves (only visible at low tide!) Take your wetsuit and explore these hidden wonders.

Expect to share part of this cliff path with wild horses!
