Join us to meet a selection of our talented designer-makers and join in with some creative fun.
We have chosen a wonderful venue for our get together, a converted chapel in the centre of Fishguard. Ffwrn is a beautiful, quirky, spacious venue. It has a wood-fire bakery, bar and cafe. They serve amazing pastries, crêpes, coffees and cocktails too!
We will be running all four workshops in the morning from 10.00am to 12.30pm and repeating again in the afternoon from 1.30pm to 4.00pm. So you can try two different activities if you stay with us all day (and its £10 cheaper if you do).
Ffwrn will be serving Mediterranean mezzes, crêpes, seafood chowder, pasties and pies, all homemade as usual, and there’ll be a well stocked bar. Please let us know of any dietary requirements in advance.
Felting with Ruth
Discover the magic of needle felting using Cambrian Wool. Needle felting is a simple, accessible technique whereby using a barbed needle to stab into the wool fibre it is possible to sculpt the wool, in this case into a little brown hare. Ruth has been needle felting for many years and will guide you through the process of creating a hare, using her own design as a guide. If you feel confident, you may add your own personal take on this magical creature. You won’t have time finish your hare in half a day but you’ll have all the necessary skills and tools to take away to finish at home. Your cute little hare will stand at about seven cm high.
Decorate ceramics with Pete
Pete will guide you through the process of decorating pre-prepared ceramics. We’ll be decorating using slips and underglaze colours. You’ll be scratching, sponging, stenciling and learning various other techniques. After the workshop, Pete will professionally fire, glaze and package your creations. Your items will be posted back to you within 2-3 weeks.

Maggie Cross is a recent design graduate from Birmingham’s School of Jewellery. Have fun making something special with a personal touch. In the two hours with Maggie you’ll carve a unique, one of a kind ring using jewellers wax and a selection of tools. Your bespoke wax ring will then be sent to a casting company in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter who will cast the wax into solid silver using the process of lost wax casting. Your ring will be posted back to you within 2-3 weeks.

Paper cutting with Erica
Papercut artist Erica George has been playing with sharp knives for a decade and has honed her skills to produce staggeringly intricate designs. In this half day workshop Erica will be giving you the lowdown on all the techniques you need to design and execute your own simple papercut. She’ll give you a choice of templated designs to set you off, and show you how to translate your ideas into images that really work. By the end of the workshop you will have your own hand cut masterpiece, framed and ready to hang on your wall as soon as you get home.
£35 per workshop or two for £60. If you’ve got any questions or wish to book over the phone, speak to Suzi or Maggie on 01239 562007. Further discounts can be arranged for large groups.
